Position: X2 Consultant Anaesthetist, substantive, full-time, 10PA.
The position is primarily based at Aintree University Hospital, with opportunities for cross-site work at The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen sites.
The job entails 6 weekly fixed sessions, emergency on-call duties at Aintree, with a non-resident 2-tier 10-week rota, including approximately 6 weeks of on-call and one split weekend. The second weekend rota is resident from 8-18 and non-resident overnight (Saturday or Sunday).
The successful candidate will have opportunities for lists in orthopaedic and MFU trauma, vascular lists, pre-op services, flexible day-case anaesthesia, depending on departmental needs. Cross-site work with day-case lists at BGH and complex major surgery lists at the Royal Liverpool are expected and negotiable.
There is a 1.5PA allocation of core SPA time weekly for personal development, with expectations for departmental meetings and teaching involvement.
