ECTA Training is a subsidiary of the B2W Group, a large further education and training group operating across England. ECTA Training is responsible for delivering the groups “trades” based training offer with a focus on electrical, gas, plumbing and heating and renewable technologies. Our mission is to bridge the gap between education and employment by delivering high-quality, industry-relevant training that meets the evolving needs of employers.

The companies product offer span a range of government funded initiatives such as apprenticeships and skills bootcamps as well as private fee-paying courses.

ECTA operates from a 14, sqft training centre in Hazel Grove (Greater Manchester) with a second site 10, sqft site due to open January in St Neots (Cambridgeshire).

Role Description

You will use your commercial expertise, playing a central role in shaping and executing GTM and customer acquisition strategies. Your key focus will be on driving revenue growth, securing new customers and increasing brand awareness.

The successful individual will be responsible for their own performance and expected to directly hold their own business development targets, with the capacity to begin building a team within 3-6 months.

The role holder will attend Senior Leadership meetings as required and will report monthly to the Directors.

Responsibilities

In common with all staff:

1. To demonstrate the B2W’s mission, vision and values (Continuous Improvement, People First, Ambitious and Pride)

Role Responsibilities:

7. Develop and execute a sales strategy to grow apprenticeship placements in plumbing, gas, heating, renewables and electrical sectors
8. Develop and execute a sales strategy to grow commercial training revenue in plumbing, gas, heating, renewables and electrical sectors
9. Identify and engage with employers—ranging from SMEs to large contractors—to understand their workforce needs
10. Promote the benefits of apprenticeships and training solutions tailored to each employer
11. Manage the full sales cycle: lead generation, pitching, closing deals, and onboarding employers
12. Collaborate with curriculum and delivery teams to ensure smooth learner placement and employer satisfaction
13. Represent the organisation at trade events, networking functions, and industry forums
14. Maintain accurate CRM records and report on sales performance and pipeline
15. Develop and execute GTM strategies that align sales, marketing, and business objectives, with a keen eye on financial targets and market trends
16. Analyse sales data, market trends, and financial reports to make data-driven decisions and enhance performance
17. Conduct competitor and market analysis to identify trends, assess opportunities, and drive product/service improvements
18. Effectively communicate the organisation’s value propositions to clients, partners, and internal stakeholders

Experience Proven experience in Senior Sales and Business Development roles E Proven track record of achieving targets, driving revenue growth, and expanding market share. E Previous experience producing and executing GTM strategies. E Qualifications Business degree or relevant experience D Leadership and management or a relevant professional qualification D Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Exceptional sales and negotiation skills E Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement E Business acumen to make strategic decisions that drive profitability E Leadership qualities to inspire and guide the wider sales team E Initiative, enthusiasm, and the ability to thrive under pressure. E Organisational skills and strategic thinking. E Analytical skills. E Excellent Relationship Manager who is able to identify and secure commercial partners E OTHER REQUIREMENTS Willingness to undertake training and personal development E Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights to inform commercial plans in the renewables and energy sector E Oversee new commercial opportunity creation, and foster new partnerships to enhance brand visibility and engagement. E Strengthen the brand identity and ensure consistent messaging across all channels in consultation with other Senior Managers. E
