What you will do
* Prepare staining and cover-slipping machines daily, managing solvents and stains in line with the SOP
* Maintain and troubleshoot minor faults in staining and cover-slipping machines
* Assess the quality of staining and cover-slipping through observation
* Clean slides before digitalisation and maintain interaction with digital scanners, including basic cleaning and maintenance
* Produce slide labels and update them via computer as needed
* Organise slides by urgency, checking slide numbers and sorting them accordingly
* File blocks numerically and verify names on cassettes
* Collect blocks from embedding centres and cross-check them against forms
* Remove excess wax from cassettes for seamless microtome cassette holder fitting
