Job Overview We are looking to appoint an individual who would like to gain further NHS experience and consolidate their knowledge, skills and confidence prior to moving on to the next stage of their career. The role will enable the development of good generic skills across the subspecialty, working closely with the Consultants and Specialty Doctors.Activity will include ward cover, outpatient clinics and support for the Emergency Department (ED).There will be the opportunity to attend ENT theatre lists. This is a fixed term post to provide rota cover for a Trainee vacancy within the department. Some aspects of the role can be bespoke to the individual needs of the post-holder and tailored to take into account previous relevant experience. Achievement of requirements for application to specialty training are expected to be met by the end of the fixed term placement. This post will provide the opportunity to learn practical skills and assessment techniques relevant to practice of ENT surgery across this medium sized acute Trust. The work pattern in operation is Monday to Friday with some late shifts until 20:00 hours (weekend and night shifts are not required). Recent NHS experience at Foundation or SHO level is essential.The minimum skill requirement, including 2 years of post-graduate experience, is outlined on the attached Person Specification. There will be opportunity to participate in teaching, audit, guideline development and service improvement projects.
