Role
We are seeking a fully qualified ACA, CIMA, or ACCA accountant for a senior leadership role within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will report directly to the Finance Director and work closely with operational teams to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency. This position offers the opportunity to influence plant cost management, drive financial strategy, and contribute to growth initiatives. The role is based at a production facility in the Grimsby area, with regular travel to a secondary site in North Yorkshire. Hybrid working arrangements may be negotiated, providing flexibility for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
* Own and manage the plant’s P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in monthly closing processes.
* Conduct detailed variance analysis and prepare management reports to inform operational decision-making.
* Lead the financial planning process, including annual budgeting and rolling forecasts, aligning with group policies and strategic objectives.
* Maintain rigorous financial controls, ensuring compliance with company policies, approval limits, and governance standards.
* Monitor and control key cost drivers, including production volumes, yields, and inventory movements, providing insights for cost optimization.
* Collaborate with production, engineering, and other operational teams to translate financial data into actionable insights.
* Participate in capital investment evaluations and project financial analysis to support strategic growth initiatives.
* Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
* Attend site visits regularly, maintaining a presence at both the primary and secondary locations to foster strong working relationships.
* Support the Finance Director in ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives as required.
Qualifications
* Fully qualified ACA, CIMA, or ACCA credentials with experience in manufacturing, production, or engineering sectors.
* Solid understanding of costing, financial reporting, and operational finance.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to convey financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
* Leadership qualities and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Experience in business partnering across functions, managing budgets, and delivering financial analysis in a fast-paced environment.
* Valid driver’s license and ability to commute between sites; preference for candidates in the East Yorkshire/North Lincolnshire area with access to the A1/A19 corridors.

* Competitive salary in the range of 70,000 to 75,000, commensurate with experience.
