The Sr Principal Manufacturing Engineer will plan, design, and construct manufacturing facilities for solid propellants and Solid Rocket Motors (SRM). Responsibilities include determining facility specifications, analyzing location, resources, structural design, evaluating production problems, and recommending improvements.
Major Position Responsibilities
* Develop and improve manufacturing methods based on product design, materials, tooling, and quality standards.
* Analyze workforce utilization, space, workflow, and design equipment layout for efficiency.
* Determine parts, equipment, tools, and processes to meet manufacturing goals.
* Estimate production times, staffing, and costs for management decisions.
* Communicate manufacturing capabilities and schedules to facilitate production.
* Coordinate with vendors on specifications, equipment, and materials.
* Evaluate products based on specifications and quality standards.
Basic Qualifications
* Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
* 10-12 years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
* Knowledge of 5S, As-Is analysis, failure analysis, GD&T, lean manufacturing, process integration, rapid prototyping, statistical process control, value engineering, workflow optimization, CAD, CAE, and critical thinking skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
