We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a NRS Primary Care Network Coordinator for the North East Node, hosted by NHS Grampian
This post is to manage the North East Node of the NRS Primary Care Network, and to help meet the primary care objectives of Grampian Clinical Research Delivery Centre (CRDC). The network aims to facilitate the development and delivery of high quality research of relevance to primary care. The post holder will provide a comprehensive research support service for both researchers and primary care professionals (community nurses, pharmacists, general medical practitioners and their staff, general dental practitioners and their staff, allied health professionals).
Your Priorities Will Include
* To manage a portfolio of eligible studies, acting as the contact point for researchers and offering advice on feasibility and appropriate remuneration for research studies in primary care
* To facilitate the recruitment of practices and professionals into studies, ensure local targets are achieved, and troubleshoot where recruitment is problematic by identifying barriers and developing strategies to increase study participation
* To work as part of the primary care practice teams in Grampian, Shetland and Orkney to identify and invite NHS patients fulfilling the eligibility criteria for both commercial and non-commercial studies
* To maintain an accurate regional database of current research, practices and professionals.
* To provide accurate and timely primary care inputs into the strategy, delivery plan and progress reports of the Grampian CRDC, working closely with the Grampian CRDC Coordinator, convening Grampian Primary Care Trials Steering Committee meetings, attending key meetings organised by GPs, GP Clusters, NRS/CSO/CMT, UK CRDCs, as appropriate
* To champion clinical trials recruitment in primary care settings, present progress reports, troubleshoot and resolve challenges by working with the aforementioned stakeholders, and achieve greater awareness of and participation in clinical trials by General Practices across Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire, Moray, Orkney and Shetland
You will be part of a national team consisting of 5 regional nodes. You will work closely with colleagues in the other nodes on national studies to share expertise.
* Educated to postgraduate degree level in scientific, clinical or project management field
* Extensive experience in health care, with appropriate competencies and skills for the job
* Understanding of Research / Audit
* Good understanding of GDPR data privacy requirements
* Excellent communication, time management, influencing and negotiating skills
* Computing skills, especially Microsoft Project, Access, Edge
* Able to work on own. Able to interact with a wide variety of staff, GPs, Practice Managers
* Pleasant, approachable, enthusiastic, reflective, reliable, questioning, has respect of/for colleagues
* Understanding of Good Clinical Practice and how it relates to the conduct of research.
* Clean driving licence and access to car, with the ability to travel across NHSG and GP Practice locations in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Moray, Orkney and Shetland, as required

* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Knowledge and experience of quality assurance issues.
* Experience of working on commercial and non-commercial studies, or transferable project management experience
* Working across organisational boundaries
* Understanding of the primary care setting, staff workload and priorities, e.g. GMS contract etc.
* Knowledge/understanding of remote data searching and healthcare data linkage and transmission
