Examinations Officer and Administration Support

Location: Whitchurch SY13 2AA, with occasional travel to Physis Head Office a short distance from the main school site.

Working Pattern: Negotiable between 25-30 hours per week (Monday to Friday). Some degree of flexibility will be required, to be available at the time of examinations.

Working weeks: 39 weeks. (Term-time + 5 days which may be disaggregated for attendance at meetings or training, or to attend in the holidays for exam purposes.) [Negotiable to 52 weeks].

£ 16,380 - Salary for 30 hours per week for 39 weeks per annum

£ 21,840 - Salary for 30 hours per week for 52 weeks per annum

Physis is pleased to invite applications from skilled and motivated professionals for the key role of Exams Officer & Administrative Support. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the accurate administration and smooth delivery of all examinations and assessment data, alongside providing wider administrative support to the school and, where required, the closely located Head Office.


About Our Provision:

Physis Care specialises in providing residential care, therapeutic support, and education for children and young people aged 11–18 who have experienced, or are at high risk of, exploitation.

Our independent specialist school offers a therapeutic and highly individualised educational provision for up to 45 pupils, including both day students and those living within our care. Pupils follow a range of qualification pathways tailored to their individual needs, including online Functional Skills, GCSEs across a variety of subjects, and vocational learning programmes.


The role & requirements of Exams Officer & Administrative Support:

With full training provided, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing examination processes in line with awarding body regulations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and attention to detail at every stage. The role requires excellent organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and confidence in working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

We are seeking an individual with strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and effective time-management and multitasking abilities. Proficiency in IT is essential, particularly in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel, along with the ability to read, understand, and apply examination regulations precisely. Previous experience of managing examinations within a school setting would be advantageous, but is not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided. The successful candidate will be required to complete Examinations Officer training and accreditation once in post.

This role would suit an experienced administrator who is looking to take on increased responsibility and autonomy within a supportive and specialist education environment.

Full UK Driving Licence – Essential (use of onsite vehicles required)
