As Head Chef, you will take the lead in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring that all meals are prepared to a consistently high standard. This includes creating menus tailored to individual needs, managing a small team, and maintaining impeccable food safety standards.,
* Lead the kitchen in the planning and preparation of nutritionally balanced, varied, and appetising meals
* Cater for a range of dietary requirements including food allergies, modified textures, and specialist diets
* Maintain strict hygiene, health, and food safety standards in accordance with regulations
* Manage kitchen stock, ordering, and budgets efficiently
* Supervise, train, and support kitchen staff
* Collaborate with care staff to ensure residents' preferences and needs are met
* Ensure food presentation is consistently of high quality and welcoming
Proven experience as a Head Chef within a care home or similar environment is essential
* Strong understanding of dietary needs for older adults, including allergens, dysphagia diets, and nutrition
* Level 2 qualification in Food Safety & Hygiene (minimum)
* Level 2 in Professional Cookery or equivalent
* Excellent organisational and leadership skills
* Compassionate and resident-focused with a genuine passion for food
* Ability to manage a kitchen team and work collaboratively with care staff
