Overview
Hybrid working – 2 days per week in our Cardiff office. We welcome candidates at senior level who can thrive in a fast‑paced, agile environment.
Responsibilities
* Own platform architecture, design, and delivery across domains.
* Define and evolve team processes and technical strategy.
* Build efficient CI/CD pipelines and robust DevOps practices.
* Mentor and coach engineers, sharing knowledge across the organisation.
* Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and collaborate cross‑functionally.
* Manage time between team and organisational contributions.
Qualifications
* Experience in large and small agile engineering teams delivering consumer‑facing, highly available solutions.
* Strong background designing cost‑optimised cloud platforms (preferably Azure) following well‑architected frameworks.
* Solid understanding of SRE principles – observability, performance optimisation, analytics, security best practices.
* Experience implementing Service Level Objectives, error budgets, alerting.
* Deep knowledge of Kubernetes; operating containers at scale.
* Building fault‑tolerant systems and performance improvement.
* Incident and problem management practices.
* Proficiency across software development lifecycle: testing, version control, branching, deployments.
* Pragmatic delivery of solutions addressing business and consumer challenges.
* Experience building internal APIs or CLIs for self‑service.
* Commitment to personal development and autonomy.
