About the Quality Technician job
The purpose of your role will be to ensure products at each stage of the manufacturing process, including goods-in, production, and despatch, meet the required quality and safety standards.
Key tasks
* Check and test raw incoming materials to ensure they meet quality standards by reviewing specs, certificates, and arranging micro testing when needed.
* Take samples during and after production, run quality checks, verify labels and metal detectors, and ensure everything is properly documented.
* Perform regular swabbing, check cleaning chemical levels, audit factory hygiene, and ensure compliance with GMP and BRC standards.
* Assist with internal audits, track and record non-conformances, support supplier approvals, and cover for the AQM when needed.
About You
* Ideally degree educated in food science, food technology, or a related subject, with relevant food manufacturing QA, quality control, or technical experience.
* Solid understanding of BRC standards and HACCP principles; scientific knowledge of food laboratory equipment is a plus.
* Good observational skills, ability to work independently, and excellent organizational skills.

The Quality Technician role (ref: 8913) offers a salary of £26,000 - £28,000, depending on experience.
The site is based in Essex and is accessible from Colchester, Manningtree, Clacton-on-Sea, Tiptree, Harwich, Brightlingsea, and surrounding areas.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
