About The Role
Balfour Beatty is seeking an experienced
Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team delivering the landmark
Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project in Redcar. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in one of the UK’s most ambitious decarbonisation initiatives, helping to shape the future of sustainable infrastructure.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of major work packages on the NZT project. You will ensure cost efficiency, risk control, and contractual compliance while supporting the successful delivery of this high-profile scheme.
What you'll be doing
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor You Will
* Lead commercial management of assigned project sections from procurement through to final account
* Prepare, manage, and report on project budgets and forecasts
* Administer contracts (NEC preferred) and manage subcontractor relationships
* Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks and opportunities
* Oversee valuations, variations, and change control processes
* Provide accurate financial reporting to senior stakeholders
* Mentor and support junior commercial team members
Who we're looking for
You Will Have The Following
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within major infrastructure or energy projects
* Strong knowledge of NEC contracts
* Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
* Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a complex project environment
* Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
* Chartered status (RICS or equivalent) is desirable
