GP Physician with Specialist Interest in Learning Disability – join to apply for this role at Transskribo. The Trust seeks a General Practitioner with Specialist Interest in Learning Disability to provide physical health support and prescribing to health respite services for an initial 3-month period.
The post is based with Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT), a provider of mental health and learning disability services with teaching links to local universities. This role involves clinical medical oversight and collaboration with the nursing team to support service users accessing respite with complex impairments and challenging behaviour, including prescribing and annual reviews.
Responsibilities
* Provide medical oversight and support in the health respite service based at 2 and 3 Woodlands Square.
* Prescribe as a key element of the role, working closely with the nursing team after pre-admission calls.
* Conduct annual reviews of service users within respite.
* Support the development of health respite services and the nursing team to deliver high-quality care.
* Deliver medical consultancy across other parts of the learning disability service as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
* General Practitioner with Specialist Interest in Learning Disability.
* Ability to prescribe within the scope of the role.
* Role involves 4 PAs; collaboration with Clinical Team Manager and Senior Nurses.
