A well-established Specialist Provision in Newbury are seeking an SEN Teacher to lead a small group of children in Yr4-5 with complex SEMH, ASC and other learning needs on a contractual basis, with potential for a long-term role.
Job Description:
* Full-time, contractual Teaching position
* Nurturing SEMH School, Primary Teacher responsibilities
* Work with students in Yr4-5 with a range of needs: ASC, SEMH, other complex learning and mental health needs
* Small classes of max. 4-5 students (high staff/student ratios)
* Trauma-informed practice, child-centred approach
* Oversee class Teaching Assistants to ensure all students can thrive
* Start date immediately
Person description:
* QTS/QTLS essential, with experience working in a Primary, or preferably SEND setting with children with similar SEND
* Child-centred approach to teaching - understands and implements trauma-informed practices
* Calm and patient demeanour, with strong classroom management skills
* Excellent behaviour management, adaptability to deal with unpredictable and unregulated behaviour
This is a special opportunity to join a nurturing SEMH Provision in Newbury. The school caters to 30 children aged 5-11; as a Teacher, you will lead a small class of up to 5 children. The school takes a child-centred approach to education, with high staff/student ratios, and all strategies implement trauma-informed practice.
