To be eligible, you must: Have achieved 4 Scottish Highers (BBCC) or SCQF Level 6. Not currently be in education, employment or training. Be genuinely interested in technology and open to learning new skills regardless of your background or previous experience. If you’ve finished school or college and are unsure about university, this could be the opportunity that sets your career in motion. Your development path This isn’t just a week of work experience, it’s your gateway to a career in tech. By completing our Social Impact Week, you could earn the chance to interview for our Glasgow Technology Degree Apprenticeship. If you secure a place on the apprenticeship, you’ll join a programme with over a decade of proven success, blending structured learning, expert mentorship, and hands-on experience. Over three years, you’ll work towards a BSc (Hons) Software Development Apprenticeship at the Glasgow Caledonian University, while gaining real-world skills through impactful projects. And the journey doesn’t end there. Apprentices who complete the programme also have the opportunity to secure permanent employment, setting the foundation for a long-term career in technology. To bring this to life, here are some examples from alumni of the Social Impact week, who later joined as Apprentices: Dale joined the programme in April 2024 and joined the degree apprenticeship in September 2024. In the Health & Public Services sector, he started as a Vulnerability Data Analyst and has since stepped up to Client Data Protection Lead sitting within the Security Team on the world’s largest Outlook and Azure client. Dale reflects “Before I took part in the Social Impact week, I had never even heard of Accenture. After the Social Impact week, I knew Accenture’s apprenticeship was the perfect choice for me and fortunately landed a position the same year. The apprenticeship has been amazing for allowing me to discover and learn about various fields of tech and help inform me of the career I want to build. The apprenticeship is suitable to all, and I couldn’t recommend it more.” Zack completed the Social Impact Week programme in April 2024 and started his technology degree apprenticeship in September 20204. He is currently working as a DevOps Engineer on a public services account working to modernise legacy systems. Speaking on his experience of the programme, he shared “I’d always had an interest in technology. However, I never knew the routes I could take to start a career in it or what the professional industry looked like. The Social Impact Week provided a fantastic opportunity to learn what it was like to work inside the industry. Working as a team throughout the week to build something first hand really helped to kickstart an understanding of how we work at Accenture. The opportunity completely changed my life and gave me countless opportunities to grow and set goals to work towards in an area I was passionate about. I would highly recommend the social impact week and the apprenticeship as a whole to anyone who is interested in learning and working inside the industry or has a passion for technology.” Zibusiso completed the Social Impact Week programme in April 2025 and joined the apprenticeship in September 2025. He is currently working on helping organise a global bootcamp focused on payment systems, connecting speakers and participants worldwide to explore how AI is shaping this space. Zibusiso reflects: "What stood out to me during Social Impact Week was how interactive and hands-on it was. We didn’t just learn theory, we applied it in practice, which helped me showcase my skills and learn from others. Working in teams and seeing different perspectives was incredibly eye-opening & taught me a lot. The programme gave me confidence and showed me that what felt like a distant professional goal was much closer than I thought - with a bit of learning and application a lot could become possible. My advice? Be open-minded and give it your best-you never know what opportunities might come from it." Key Dates The programme runs from Monday 23rd to Friday 27th March (9am – 5.30pm). You will need to be available for the full duration of this programme and be able to travel to our Glasgow office on Regent Street for the first and last day of the week.
