An opportunity has arisen within our enthusiastic and dedicated Cancer Services team for a Appointments Coordinator.
We are looking for an exceptional individual with excellent interpersonal skills, good organisational skills and a real passion for delivering a high quality patient experience. You will need to be a confident communicator by telephone and have a good aptitude for using IT systems.
The role is varied and interesting: you will be responsible for booking 2WW referrals and oncology referrals coming into the trust. The post holder will organise allocated clinics, ensuring that patients are booked into the most appropriate sessions and booked within target. You will also provide administrative support within the department, including coordinating the first outpatient appointment for suspected cancer referrals within target. Working as part of a team, including clinical staff, the post holder is expected to deliver a responsible and high quality service to patients and other service users.

Responsibilities
* Manage main administration office telephone and outpatient appointments, demonstrating excellent telephone manner and ability to multi‑task.
* Immediately escalating circumstances where a patient’s first clinic appointment cannot be made within 14 days of receipt of a 2WW referral.
* Deal with patient cancellations and DNAs in accordance with the Trust Cancer Access policy.
* Enter patient demographic details and referral details onto the Cancer Database system – Somerset.
* Coordinate the referral process, issue appointments, ensure appointments are correct on PAS, and ensure necessary paperwork is added to Evolve and Patient Centre.
* Proactively and efficiently organise allocated clinics, ensuring that patients are booked into the most appropriate sessions.
* Process 2WW referral letters in a timely manner in accordance with Trust policy.
