Position Summary

The Office Manager is responsible for being the primary point of contact in maintaining efficient office operations, facilities management and 3 rd party supplier relationships. This role is critical for managing the overall ‘look and feel’ of the Gowan Crop Protection Office, being a culture champion and ambassador, radiating key tenets of our ‘Muddy Boots’ culture throughout all day to day operations, including ownership and planning of social and networking events. The role also requires mastery of a broad scope of administrative duties, involving organizing office procedures, purchase orders and requisitions and office spend.

Position Summary

Location: Harpenden, Hertfordshire

Reports to: HR Manager

Job Status: Full-Time

Role Responsibilities


* Critical point of contact in managing facilities and 3 rd party suppliers that interface with the UK Office.
* Organize and maintain office operations and procedures, managing all internal communications with UK employees.
* Accountability for all Office spend, aligning actuals with budget/forecast. Maintaining process adherence for internal controls and compliance as well as fiscal year reporting. Initiate corrective actions where necessary.
* Accountability for process adherence on Purchase Orders and Purchase Requisitions within numerous vendor/supplier relationships.
* Administrative responsibility, where required, for shipping, internal and external post, travel, diary management, stock control of replenishable items, organizing meetings, training workshops and conferences.
* Ownership of policies & procedures that ensure compliant EHS practices on site.
* Champion the Gowan ‘Muddy Boots’ culture and be an ambassador for all aspects that make Gowan a truly great place to work.

Required Skills / Abilities

* ‘Front of House’ mindset, being the face of Gowan Crop Protection in the UK. Warm and welcoming with customer service and customer intimacy at the core.
* Proficiency in supply management and budget tracking.
* Knowledge of inventory control and reporting skills.
* Excellent communication skills to inform and update others.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education & Experience

* Proven experience in office management or similar role.

Job Expectations / Working Conditions

* Ability to work in an office environment Monday to Friday.
* Flexibility to work beyond standard office hours during peak times or when required.
