Residential Property Paralegal – Hybrid

Our client is a progressive law firm in Manchester City Centre seeking a Residential Property Paralegal. The role supports Fee Earners in residential property sales and purchases, maintaining high client care standards.
Primary Purpose of the Role
Reporting directly to a fee earner or fee earners, provide support to them and the team as directed.
Responsibilities
* Draft standard conveyancing documents (contracts, transfer deeds)
* Conduct Land Registry and property searches
* Pro‑actively manage and action fee earner inbox
* Assist with SDLT submissions and Land Registry applications
* Liaise with clients, estate agents, and solicitors
* Prepare completion statements and statements of account
* Handle exchange/completion formalities, including exchange of contracts
* Manage post‑completion tasks: registration and file closure
* Record time and assist with billing processes
* Perform administrative tasks as required
* Develop into the primary initial contact on a matter under a solicitor’s supervision
* Assist team members with effective file management
* Maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients and referrers
* Understand the firm’s business and success drivers
* Ensure accuracy before passing work back to fee earners
* Demonstrate good housekeeping of electronic and paper files
* Communicate with internal and external clients and provide clear feedback
* Engage with the team and build rapport with clients
* Record marketing time and all cross‑referrals correctly
* Record referral source accurately on new files
Description
We welcome candidates studying for the LLM or LPC, as well as recent graduates with strong academic backgrounds. The position offers the opportunity for career development and potential progression towards a training contract, subject to performance.
Person Specification
* Minimum 6 months experience in Commercial Property or Residential Conveyancing, with strong academics
* Experience in conveyancing or property law preferred
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
* Proficient in Microsoft Office
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Strong problem‑solving abilities
* Exceptional organisational skills to prioritise workload
