Graduate Engineers, Sizewell B
We are looking for talented engineers who are graduating or have recently graduated to join the Risktec team at Sizewell B Nuclear Power Station. Candidates should have a keen interest in a career in the nuclear industry and be driven to work and learn valuable engineering skills in a dynamic environment. There are currently several vacancies for Graduate Engineers in various groups within the Engineering Department at Sizewell B.
Graduates will work alongside experienced Systems Engineers to support the safe and reliable operation of complex engineering systems on site.
Disciplines Considered
We will consider engineers who have graduated in the following disciplines at minimum BEng or BSc level:
* Electrical and Electronic Engineering
* C&I Control and Instrumentation
* Mechanical Engineering
* Civil Engineering
* Chemical Engineering
* Physics and Nuclear Physics
Other disciplines with relevant modules in Nuclear Operations/Engineering will also be considered. Engineers with over 1 year of relevant experience will also be considered.
Duration of Position
Full-time (38h/week) with an initial fixed duration of 1 year, with the possibility of becoming permanent.
The Role
The successful applicants will work within the Engineering groups at Sizewell B, the UK's only operating civil Pressurised Water Reactor (PWR) site. As a Graduate Engineer, you will support System Engineers responsible for various plant systems.
Daily tasks include, but are not limited to:
* Reviewing preventative maintenance routines and implementing changes within regulatory frameworks.
* Ensuring risk is managed and quality maintained throughout engineering processes.
* Implementing plant modifications via the Modifications Process.
* Providing technical advice during large investment projects.
* Managing critical spares and equipment obsolescence.
* Participating in performance and condition monitoring of plant.
* Conducting equipment reliability reviews and plant walkdowns.
This role offers a broad understanding of risk management, design, and operations within a large generating site. Many past graduates have secured permanent positions on site.
Security Clearance Checks

Other Requirements
Excellent interpersonal and written skills are essential. A valid driver’s license and own transport are required.
