Summary:
The Passenger Assistant Supervisor provides first-line supervisory management to approximately 180 Passenger Assistants (PAs), working alongside three other Passenger Assistant Supervisors. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the performance and safety of Passenger Assistants. The Supervisor provides advice and support to staff, forms solutions to reduce risks in line with Health and Safety requirements, and occasionally undertakes the duties of a Passenger Assistant when required. The role is defined as a Mobile Worker
Responsibilities:
* Provide first-line supervisory management to approximately 180 Passenger Assistants who work on home-to-school and social care transport across the city
* Conduct return to work interviews and associated absence meetings for staff returning from sick leave.
* Prioritise own workload and arrange appointments to visit PAs, schools, or parents, with approximately 50% of working time spent on site visits.
* Responsible for making decisions on, and forming solutions to, a diverse range of operational and health and safety issues
* Ensure children have the correct equipment to ensure safe travel, e.g., car seat/buckle safe, etc.
* Delivery of the Passenger Assistant Training Scheme (with other team members) for new and existing PAs, ensuring full implementation.
* Ensure that all equipment is fitted to manufacturer's guidelines
Essentials:
* GCSE A-C/9-4 in English and Maths or equivalent.
* A knowledge and understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN)
* Awareness of specific H & S and SEN transport issues (e.g., wheelchair transport, lifting and handling).
* Substantial experience of supervising or line managing staff and managing performance
