Position Overview
Following substantial investment in Urgent and Emergency Care services, we are recruiting up to six WTE consultants in Emergency Medicine at Homerton Healthcare. These posts will join a diverse group of consultants in one of the highest performing emergency departments, ranked "Outstanding" by the last CQC inspection in 2020.
Role Summary and Responsibilities
* Provide clinical support in Paediatric Emergency Medicine and Same Day Emergency Care.
* Work one late shift on alternate weeks until 22:00 and one in seven weekends, supporting a weekend working model.
* Participate in the non‑resident on‑call rota with a 5% supplement.
* Collaborate with the Clinical Lead (Dr Claire Charley) and Senior Nurse for Emergency Services (Karen Bryan‑Clara).
* Agree on a formal job plan on appointment, reviewed annually in line with Terms and Conditions of employment.
Qualifications and Experience
Suitable for new consultants who have recently completed entry onto the specialist register in Emergency Medicine (including within six months of completion) as well as experienced consultants wishing to develop established specialist interests.

The post is a whole‑time equivalent substantive Consultant (10 PAs), based at Homerton Healthcare. The on‑call is non‑resident with a 5% supplement.
