The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning and develop both academically and socially. Your responsibilities will include :
* Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
* Supporting children with needs such as autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH
* Implementing EHCP targets and individual support plans
* Delivering targeted interventions and adapting learning activities
* Supporting pupils with communication, behaviour, and emotional regulation
* Working closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals
* Creating a structured, safe, and inclusive learning environment
About You
* Proven experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting (essential)
* Strong understanding of SEND, including ASC, ADHD, and SEMH
* Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs and delivering targeted interventions
* A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
* Strong spoken English skills are essential to effectively support pupils, particularly in a school with a high proportion of learners with English as an Additional Language (EAL)
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Must have the right to work in the UK
