Overview
Chemo infusion RN role at Mass General Brigham (per diem) for the Mass General Cancer Center at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. This is a per diem position in the outpatient/ambulatory setting located at 2014 Washington Street.
Responsibilities
* Deliver direct patient care and support in the ambulatory care unit, ensuring high nursing standards.
* Conduct patient assessments, devise care plans, and assist in outpatient procedures with a focus on patient comfort and safety.
* Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and post-procedure care.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
* Administer medications, perform IV therapy, and maintain accurate patient records in compliance with regulations.
* Uphold infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
* Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. Can experience be substituted for a degree? No.
* Licenses and Credentials: RN – State License required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Other certifications may be preferred.
* Experience: Clinical nursing experience 1-2 years required; Ambulatory Oncology or infusion care or outpatient experience 1-2 years preferred.
* Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of cancer biology and chemotherapy administration; strong nursing principles; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment; commitment to continuing education; familiarity with EMRs and healthcare technologies.
