Product Owner Hybrid Near Abingdon / Oxford & WFH Circa £45,000 - £55,000 Car or Car Allowance Bonus A rare opportunity has become available for a Product Owner to join a successful software solutions company based close to Abingdon and Oxford. This is a hybrid role that offers the postholder the flexibility to work from home up to 4 days per week once theyre settled in to the role. Our client is part of a leading software solutions group that host a range of web based technology solutions. As they continue to grow theyre seeking a Product Owner to play a key part in defining and delivering the product vision and roadmap. The post holder will oversee how products evolve, what gets built, when and why, whilst balancing customer needs, business goals, and technical constraints. Theyll work closely with an offshore development team to manage the Product Backlog, run sprint planning sessions, and support milestone ceremonies. Key Responsibilities: Own the product vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs Manage the Product Backlog, writing clear, detailed user stories for fixes and enhancements including the production of business requirement documents for bespoke developments Work closely with development teams during sprint planning and development milestones of roadmap and bespoke items Assist with QA testing of developments delivered, and own the release process Be involved with DR testing and infrastructure upgrades as required Define MVPs, gather feedback, and iterate rapidly based on customer and business input Use data to inform prioritisation decisions and compare user wants vs. needs Assist in documentation and deployment of releases to live environments Liaise with internal support teams to triage and prioritise incoming issues Engage directly with customers at multiple levels within their organisations Ensure compliance with internal procedures and processes Key Attributes: 13 years in a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Experience of writing user stories, managing product backlogs and functional testing Familiarity with agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to balance technical constraints, user needs, and business objectives Strong organisational skills and self-motivation Ability to build positive working relationships with both internal teams and external customers Any of the following would be beneficial - Experience with SOAP, XML, JSON, or SQL (you do not need to code, but a technical understanding is important), Exposure to product analytics and user research, Prior experience working with offshore development teams, Knowledge of system integrations and APIs If you're looking to work for an innovative software company that can provide opportunity for professional development and career growth then this could be the role for you.
