Job Description
A Staffordshire-based food manufacturing company is looking to recruit a Facilities Engineer for their production facility in Lichfield. The role primarily involves supporting the water treatment plant, infrastructure, and grounds. This is an active role requiring manual handling, lone working, working at height, and more. You will manage plant operations to ensure site compliance, with a keen eye for detail in record-keeping of daily testing.
Experience or understanding of Environment Agency discharge consents would be highly advantageous. A driving licence is essential, as you'll operate yard tractors on-site for tasks like gritting grounds during adverse weather and trailer maneuvering.
Role: Multi-skilled Facilities Engineer
* Ideally electrically biased (mechanically biased with good electrical skills considered)
* Panama shift (rotating) – Days/Afternoons
* Days: 05:30am - 16:00pm
* Afternoons: 12:00pm - 22:30pm
Package
* Salary of approximately £34,000
* 23 days/shifts annual leave

Key Responsibilities
* Regular checks of plant and water systems – hourly/daily/weekly
* Monitoring cooling towers – sampling, chemical replenishment, escalation procedures
* General maintenance and DIY tasks
* Maintain site trailers to ensure roadworthiness
* Complete all necessary PPMs
* Report any issues with the water treatment plant immediately to minimize downtime
Experience and Skills Required
* Related qualifications in water treatment and/or maintenance
* Knowledge of a Water Treatment Plant, ideally in a food production environment
* Ability or confidence to operate yard tractors and trailers
* High attention to detail in observation and recording
* Legionella and Confined Space Awareness is highly desirable
