Job Description:
Please note: We are pleased to announce the opening of a new Sainsbury's store. Additionally, there are potential opportunities available in our surrounding Warwickshire stores.
Leadership runs through your veins. Retail management is your calling, and you’re ambitious, experienced, and eager to show us what you’ve got. Sainsbury’s stores are large and complex, providing an ideal environment to stretch your team leadership ability and advance your career.
This role involves store management and more. Responsible for the store’s success, you’ll prioritize customer satisfaction, develop your store leadership team, and focus on delivering excellent store performance, making this an excellent opportunity to enhance your managerial skills with career progression in mind.
What you’ll be doing
Our Store Managers are committed to ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience every time. If you can empower your team to improve retail experiences, you’re the right fit.
Responsibilities include managing P&L, KPIs, safety & risk, and ensuring all departments perform well. You should be hands-on, maintain a visible presence in the store, and uphold a standard of excellence to inspire colleagues and delight customers daily.
In a fast-paced environment, you’ll face daily challenges and opportunities, making quick decisions while maintaining focus on customer experience. Engaging colleagues and empowering them to deliver exceptional service is key. With a capable management team supporting you, you can concentrate on your strengths.
Who you are
You have senior leadership experience in a customer-centric environment, seeking your next career move. You thrive on overcoming hurdles and enjoy the variety of daily challenges.
You desire a role with broad responsibilities. You’re interested in diverse product ranges, food and drink concessions, banking, travel money bureaux, and online delivery departments, seeking comprehensive experience that’s hard to find elsewhere.
How you’ll progress
We’re ready to develop your skills. No matter where you started your store management journey, we’ll invest in your growth so you can confidently represent the Sainsbury’s brand.
You’ll work alongside supportive, friendly colleagues and be encouraged to build a team where every member has opportunities to succeed.
Future opportunities include progressing within Sainsbury’s or Argos stores nationwide, or moving into Head Office roles. We’re committed to unlocking your potential.
What we’ll give you
Leading a team and serving thousands of customers weekly is a significant responsibility. In return, you’ll have autonomy over your shift patterns, with flexibility to match your life commitments, especially outside peak times, supported by the store’s management structure.
Salary depends on your experience, store size, complexity, and location. Benefits include:
* Private Healthcare – single cover, with options to upgrade to family cover annually
* Interest-free car loan up to £10,000
* Annual performance-based bonus scheme
* 10% shopping discount at Sainsbury’s, Argos, Tu, and Habitat after four weeks, increasing to 15% on Fridays and Saturdays at Sainsbury’s and at Argos every pay day
* Free food and hot drinks for colleagues
* Generous holiday entitlement, maternity and paternity leave
* Matching 4-7.5% pension contributions
* Sainsbury’s share scheme for discounted investments
* Wellbeing support including counselling and legal advice
* Colleague networks for development
* Cycle to Work scheme
* Discounts on gym memberships, holidays, and retail vouchers
