Role Overview:
The Credit Controller and Recoveries is responsible for managing credit control processes to ensure timely collection of debts and minimize financial risk. This includes maintaining client relationships, monitoring accounts, and executing recovery procedures. The role can be fast-paced and high-pressure during collection efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Managing Accounts Receivable:
o Monitor and manage the accounts receivable ledger for timely payments.
o Review and reconcile customer accounts to resolve discrepancies.
2. Collections:
o Follow up on overdue invoices via phone, email, and letters.
o Negotiate payment plans and settlements.
o Document and report on collection activities and trends.
3. Member/Provider Relationships:
o Build and maintain relationships to facilitate collections.
o Address inquiries and concerns regarding accounts or payments.
4. Credit Risk Assessment:
o Assess financial terms and risks.
5. Reporting:
o Prepare reports on aging balances, collection stats, and recovery progress.
o Provide insights and recommendations to management.
6. Compliance:
o Ensure adherence to policies and legal regulations.
o Stay informed on industry best practices.
Requirements:
* Experience in credit control, debt recovery, or accounts receivable.
* Strong analytical and attention to detail skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
* Ability to work independently and in teams.
* Knowledge of laws related to credit control and debt collection.
* Experience with CRM systems.
