Position Overview: As a dynamic and skilled Energy Economist in our Power Networks team, you will leverage your extensive networks experience to provide insightful analysis and strategic guidance relating to high-stakes energy transaction opportunities. Your deep techno-economic knowledge and understanding of energy systems will enable you to assess project feasibility, identify risks and provide strategic recommendations, playing a pivotal role in shaping power network investments and initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive due diligence on energy projects, mergers, acquisitions, and investments, assessing economic feasibility and potential risks. Analyse and interpret complex financial models, market trends, and regulatory frameworks to provide actionable insights for clients. Evaluate power networks and infrastructure projects to identify opportunities for optimisation, expansion, and efficiency improvements. Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to integrate economic, technical, and environmental considerations into project assessments. Generate accurate and persuasive reports, presentations, and recommendations to guide clients in making strategic decisions. Provide thought leadership by staying abreast of industry developments, emerging trends, and policy changes that impact energy economics. Engage in client interactions to effectively communicate findings and recommendations, fostering lasting relationships. Participate in business development activities, including proposal writing, client pitches, and networking events. Qualifications: Advanced degree in Economics, Energy Economics, Finance, or a related field. Proven experience in transaction advisory, due diligence, and power networks within the energy sector. Strong expertise in financial modelling, economic analysis, and market research methodologies. Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to synthesise complex data into actionable insights. Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools for economic analysis and modelling. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences. Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams. Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and a deep understanding of its integration into energy economics.
