Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a welcoming primary school in Durham, starting in September.

The Role
As an SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with special educational needs
* Work closely with the class teacher to adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
* Support the pupil’s academic progress as well as their social and emotional development
* Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
* Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence within the classroom
* Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment

What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
* Have previous experience working in a UK school or similar setting
* Have experience supporting children with SEND (essential for this role)
* Be patient, nurturing, and resilient in challenging situations
* Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Be proactive, adaptable, and committed to supporting individual needs
* Be reliable and able to commit to a full-time, term-time position
