Are you passionate about nurturing young children and supporting their development in a caring and inclusive environment?
We’re looking for a warm, reliable and enthusiastic Nursery Nurse to join our friendly nursery team at Peterborough College on a maternity cover basis. You’ll be working in a supportive early years setting, helping to deliver high-quality care and education for children aged 0–5.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Supporting the Room Leader to provide a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
2. Acting as a key person for a group of children – observing, planning, and delivering age-appropriate activities to support their development.
3. Helping children build independence through daily care routines and structured learning.
4. Building strong, supportive relationships with children, parents, and carers.
5. Supporting the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and nursery policies.
6. Assisting with snack and mealtimes, tidying activities, and contributing to the smooth running of the room.
7. Collaborating with colleagues and attending team meetings to support high-quality provision.
8. Deputising for the Room Leader when needed.
What We’re Looking For:
9. A Level 2 childcare qualification (minimum).
10. A good standard of education including Level 2 English and Maths.
11. Experience working with children aged 0–5 in an early years setting.
12. Strong understanding of the EYFS and child development.
13. A warm, compassionate communicator with great teamwork and initiative.
14. A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and ongoing professional development.
Desirable but not essential:
Level 3 childcare qualification, First Aid, Food Hygiene, or Child Protection training.
