We offer a fully client based serviced approach to investing in properties. We acquire properties from the open market, renovate them to a set standard and specification, pass them onto our lettings department for maintenance and management and we resell to investors
We have our Property Surveying Department, Renovations Department, Lettings & Maintenance Department, Legal Department and relevant Sales & Marketing Departments etc. We do everything in-company. We are expanding and are looking for new recruits – we have recently moved to a brand new fully refurbished larger office as a result of this expansion.

The Role:

** PAYMENT WILL BE MADE MONTHLY on day rate, TO WHICH YOU WILL BE EXECTED TO SUBMIT WEEKLY INVOICES **
**As a self-employed member of the team, you will be responsible for handling all your taxes and other related financial obligations and insurances.**
Summary
We are looking for a Multi trade Handy Man to join our team at UK PG. This role is essential for maintaining our properties and ensuring that all repairs and renovations are completed to a high standard. Based in the North West, you will play a vital role in supporting our property management operations.
The role Requirements:
* Prepare site-specific risk assessments & method statements (RAMS).
* Compliance with relevant British Standards, PCA Codes of Practice, and manufacturer's guidance.
* Assess existing surfaces, identify defects, and confirm preparation requirements.
* Identify and document potential hazards (lead-based paint, asbestos-containing materials, mould).
* Protection of property and contents:
* Cover floors, furniture and fixtures with dust sheets.
* Masking
* Temporary protection
* Wash down and clean surfaces to remove dust, grease, and loose material.
* Sand surfaces as necessary to provide a key for coatings.
* Fill cracks, holes, and imperfections with appropriate filler, rub down, and spot prime.
* Treat mould, damp stains, and other defects before decorating.
* Strip wallpaper where specified, using steam or chemical strippers.
* Apply stain blockers or primers to problem areas.
* Apply primer, undercoat, and finishing coats as specified, using brushes, rollers, or spraying.
* Paint ceilings, walls, woodwork, doors, windows, skirting boards, and radiators (where specified).
* Prepare and paint exterior walls, soffits, fascias, doors, windows, railings, and fences (where specified) using exterior-grade products.
* Ensure full and even coverage with required number of coats (minimum two finish coats unless otherwise agreed).
* Prepare walls to a smooth finish suitable for wallpapering.
* Hang lining paper where necessary.
* Hang patterned or plain wallpaper with pattern match and alignment.
* Inspect site, confirm measurements and assess access.
* Submit detailed quotation when required with supporting images or drawings.
* Coordination with other trades (e.g. electricians, plasterers, decorators).
* Fit and secure doors, door frames, windows, staircases, balustrades, skirting boards, architraves, flooring, cabinetry, shelving, partitions, and bespoke joinery items as specified.
* Ensure all fixings, joints and alignments are accurate, structurally sound and as per the specified tolerance.
* Install fire-rated joinery where required, ensuring full compliance with Part B of Building Regulations.
* Apply appropriate fire-stopping, acoustic, or insulation products in line with specification.
* Prepare / sand timber based structures to remove any rough edges.
* Install ironmongery and associated fittings (hinges, locks, handles, brackets).
* Ensure smooth operation of moving parts (doors, windows, drawers).
* Final adjustments for alignment, clearance, and operation.
* Replace or repair damaged structural elements ie rafters, trusses, fascia boards, soffits, and verge timbers.
* Maintain clean, safe, and tidy work areas.
* Ensure waste disposal arrangements comply with regulations.
* Supply completion photos.
The Ideal Candidate:
You will take ownership of work on all jobs whilst remaining within budget and time parameters. You will also operate within company Health and Safety guidelines and remain up to date with technical and legal requirements of your skill areas. Typical work will comprise of empty properties that require full refurbishment.
As a skilled operative, you will be expected to have a multitude of skills to enable you to perform your tasks. We will expect the candidate to have a background in joinery. Roofing, plumbing and plastering are desirable skills.
The Ideal Subcontractor:
This is the ideal position for someone who has been self-employed now looking for volume of work and trusted Company to work with. The individual must be proactive and able to identify issues quickly and remedy effectively.
You must be practical and capable of producing consistent high-quality work where needed and completing general building and maintenance tasks efficiently.
We are looking for someone who can show initiative, can communicate well with Office staff and customers and completes jobs to a good standard. All applicants must have a valid driving license, own van and tools
