West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is a national endoscopy training centre and regional endoscopy academy training centre. This post is to support delivery of Endoscopy training in West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Endoscopy Department. The post holder will co-ordinate Endoscopy Medical Education ( Med ED) Training Programmes and National Joint Advisory Group (JAG) Training courses for the Gastroenterology department. This will include the delivery of the Regional Academy Endoscopy training programmes, monitoring of the JETS e-portfolio system for trainees and the annual review of progress. We are looking to recruit an organised, proactive and compassionate individual with excellent communication and administrative skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work calmly under pressure, manage competing priorities, and communicate sensitively. A flexible and team-focused approach is essential, along with a strong commitment to confidentiality, data protection, The Endoscopy Medical Education Administrator and Waiting List Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring patients receive timely, safe and well-organised endoscopy care and overseas the effective operations of the endoscopy training courses. The post holder will be part of the Gastroenterology team and will provide administrative support to endoscopy postgraduate education processes, utilising administrative systems to support implementation, monitoring and maintenance of high standards of endoscopy educational practice. They will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate endoscopy waiting lists and diaries, coordinating procedure bookings, monitoring waiting times and escalation of potential breaches, and acting as a key point of contact for patients, clinicians and internal and external services., West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is a national endoscopy training centre and regional endoscopy academy training centre. Core hours: The department operates Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. The post holder will be required to work within these hours across sites. Occasional flexibility may be required; full details will be discussed at interview.,

* Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages eg PowerPoint, Word, Excel and other IT skills acquired through training and practical experience
* 4 GCSE (C and above) or equivalent
* NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience

* Experience in an NHS Information and co-ordinating role.
* Evidence of continuing education and personal development.
Knowledge Essential
* Knowledge of NHS policies
* Knowledge of cancer targets
* Knowledge of 18 week pathway process.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety in the Workplace
* Understanding of confidentiality/data protection issues
* Advance knowledge and highly skilled in the use of MS Excel and IT systems.
* Ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative.
Desirable
* Knowledge of Specialty Range of work procedures and practices; base level of theoretical knowledge
* Knowledge of I reporter, Cerner/EPR, and Infoflex system.
* Knowledge of NHS Structures and how medical education works within the NHS and training requirements of junior doctors.
Experience Essential
* Experience in a similar NHS Admin role.
* Experience of working in a customer service environment
* Experience of dealing with professionals and public
* Experience of working in an administrative position and a team.
* Experience of co-ordinating monitoring / inspection visits or conferences (large meetings) etc.
* Previous experience of a role involving high levels of accuracy and attention to details.
Desirable
* Experience of working in an acute hospital setting
* Experience of working in Medical Education
* Experience of working with assessors and trainers
