Team Manager - Family Support & Safeguarding
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Manager to join our Family Support & Safeguarding Fenland Team. This is a permanent full-time position for 37 hours per week. The role will be based at Awdry House in Wisbech, with some working from home, and will commence as soon as the successful candidate is able.
This opportunity could be for you if you’re looking to expand your management skills and experience in a different service area or if you’re a Senior Practitioner wishing to step into a management role.
You’ll need to be an experienced practitioner, committed to improving outcomes for children & young people. You’ll work in a strengths-based and solution-focused approach, have good organisational skills, be an effective communicator, and have a sound understanding of thresholds. You should be able to work closely with internal and external agencies.
Knowledge and understanding of Family Support & Safeguarding are advantageous but not essential, as training and support will be provided for the right candidate. What will you be doing?
As a Team Manager, you will oversee a team of Social Workers and qualified practitioners, supporting children & families who need protection and support under statutory intervention (Section 17, Section 47) and private/public law outline.
Your responsibilities include ensuring robust management oversight to ensure children’s plans are progressed, responses are proportionate and child-focused, timescales are met, and supervision is current and reflective of the children’s needs.
The role involves practice and professional development for staff and the team. Working closely with other Team Managers and the Service Manager, you will be a key part of the service’s development journey.
About you

You must:
* Be a qualified Social Worker with registration with Social Work England
* Be able to work from various locations and travel independently across the county
* Possess strong leadership skills
* Have experience with child protection systems, court work, and working with looked-after children
* Be knowledgeable of statutory requirements and local procedures
