Overview
NEC Software Solutions is embarking on a pivotal digital transformation journey by adopting Microsoft Copilot technologies, including Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, and GitHub Copilot. The purpose of this role is to be the catalyst for this change, ensuring these powerful AI tools are deployed, securely integrated into daily operations, and widely adopted across the organization.
The Microsoft Copilot Specialist is a strategic role requiring a deep understanding of the Copilot ecosystem and the ability to lead from a business and change-management perspective. You will define the vision, build the strategy, and drive adoption, aligning AI value with business needs and addressing cultural and operational challenges of a new way of working.
This role focuses on maximizing return on investment in Copilot by delivering tangible value, fostering innovation, and ensuring colleagues have the knowledge and confidence to use these tools effectively. You will bridge technology and business to ensure a successful, secure digital transformation that benefits the entire organisation.
You will be a member of the central architecture and design function within the enterprise architecture team, which includes technology specialists focused on Microsoft 365. You will benefit from a team with diverse skills across enterprise, security, and solution architecture.
Responsibilities
* Champion Adoption: Act as the visible advocate and subject-matter expert for Copilot tools across NEC Software Solutions. Engage with key stakeholders and business unit leaders to communicate benefits and strategic use cases.
* Use Case Development: Lead identification, design, and execution of high-impact pilot programs with business teams to determine priority Copilot use cases and establish a framework for testing, validating, and scaling implementations.
* Program Management & Business Integration: Integrate Copilot technologies into existing workflows, collaborating with project and engineering teams to deploy smoothly and demonstrate productivity gains while improving security posture.
* Strategic Tool Evaluation: Conduct strategic, financial, and operational evaluations of AI tools and services; provide recommendations to senior leadership.
* Enablement & Training: Develop and deliver guidance, playbooks, and training sessions for technical and non-technical audiences to enable secure and confident use of Copilot tools.
* Documentation: Create and review program plans, security policies, and user playbooks related to Copilot adoption and best practices.
* Governance & Best Practice: Define policies and a framework for safe, secure, and ethical use of generative AI, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, ISO42001).
* Metrics & Reporting: Establish a reporting structure to track adoption, usage, productivity gains, and value of the Copilot program, informing senior leadership.
* Continuous Improvement: Stay informed on emerging technologies and security threats; build business cases and strategic proposals for new technologies.
Qualifications
Essential
* Experience in digital transformation, product, or technology leadership.
* Practical experience with change management and large-scale organizational change.
* Hands-on familiarity with Microsoft 365, Teams, and modern workplace tools.
* Experience with AI and automation tools (preferably Copilot Studio and GitHub Copilot).
* Strong communication and influencing skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
* A track record of adopting new tools and ways of working at scale.
* Ability to balance strategic vision with direct collaboration and program management.
* Familiarity with compliance and security standards such as ISO 27001 and ISO42001.
Desirable
* Experience leading AI adoption programs in complex organizations.
* Knowledge of public sector operating environments.
* Understanding of agile / DevOps methods.
* Experience designing and running enablement and training programs.
* Solid understanding of Microsoft Azure and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
* Familiarity with AI, machine learning, and large language models (LLMs).
* Understanding of SDLC and modern coding practices to support GitHub Copilot adoption.
* Knowledge of IT security principles and governance for cloud-based solutions.
