Senior Exterior Horticultural Technician

PHS Greenleaf is looking for a Senior Exterior Technician to join our team in Laleham. This is a hands-on, varied role where you’ll combine horticultural expertise with operational know‑how to keep our clients’ outdoor spaces looking their best.
As a Senior Exterior Technician, you’ll take ownership of maintaining high‑quality external plant displays across a portfolio of customer sites. You’ll ensure every display is healthy, vibrant, and maintained to the Greenleaf standard.
Key Responsibilities as a Senior Exterior Technician with PHS Greenleaf:
1. Plant Care & Maintenance
2. Deliver routine plant care including watering, feeding, pruning, and pest control.
3. Plan and execute seasonal changes efficiently.
4. Diagnose plant health issues and take corrective action.
5. Report and resolve any site issues promptly.
6. Apply and adapt internal stock‑care processes throughout the year.
7. Stock Rotation & Inventory
8. Carry out periodic stock checks and report discrepancies.
9. Maintain stock levels for plants, seasonal displays, and sundries.
10. Implement effective stock rotation to minimise waste.
11. Plan and deliver plant installations and replacements to client specifications.
12. Conduct site surveys and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
13. Lead on-site activities and support large-scale exterior planting projects.
14. Log site visits, maintenance outcomes, and updates accurately
15. Maintain data accuracy to support reporting and service performance
16. Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and standards
17. Optimise routes and schedules for efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have:
18. Experience in horticulture or exterior plant maintenance.
19. A full manual UK driving licence with 6 points or less
20. Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
21. Self‑motivated with excellent time‑management skills.
22. Confident communicator with strong customer service skills.
23. IT literate, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
24. Horticultural qualifications (e.g., RHS Level 2).
25. Knowledge of industry products and equipment.
26. Experience leading installations and managing stock
