Cost Verification and Assurance Consultant
1. Assistant to Associate Director level
2. Birmingham (Mixture of local office, home and client sites)

Gleeds Infrastructure are seeking a number of cost verification and assurance professionals of various levels of experience to work on a wide range of significant assignments in a range of industry sectors in the UK and around the world. We are working on some of the most significant and exciting infrastructure projects and are looking for additional team members to work with us on these projects and to help in the development of the Cost Assurance function.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
5. Provide commercial and financial assurance and verification of costs on a range of projects in different sectors
6. Analysis and assessment of contractor’s accounting and commercial systems and processes
7. Prepare risk-based audit and verification plans
8. Detailed audit and analysis of a range of cost types
9. Prepare high quality and robust outputs and working papers
10. Understanding and interpretation of different types of contractual frameworks
11. Engagement with contractors, clients, regulatory bodies and other relevant stakeholders
12. Preparation of clear and concise reports
13. Development of forensic technology and analysis tools
14. Support the Head of Cost Assurance and other senior staff within Gleeds

About You
What we are looking for:
24. Experience of NEC3/4 contracts
25. Experience of working with corporate risk and audit functions
26. Experience of cost verification, internal/external audit, financial reviews on significant infrastructure and construction projects
27. Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written
28. Methodical way of thinking and approach to work
29. Good organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments.
30. Excellent problem, negotiating, finance and numeracy management skills
31. Sound ICT skills, with a good level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
32. Experience in data analysis tools such as Power BI
33. Experience of contract management and administration systems
34. Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily
35. Ability to work as part of a team, and/or to lead a team, depending on level
Qualifications
36. MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or,
37. Accounting/Auditing experience (AAT, ACA, CIMA etc) or,
38. Relevant practical experience
