Overview
Lambeth Council is offering an initial temporary contract for 3-6 months, with a view to extension or permanent position for the right candidate. The rate is negotiable dependent upon experience. Location: SW2 1RW, Hybrid work arrangement.
Responsibilities
* Provide effective, responsive, proactive and valued exchequer support within given areas, working with and supporting stakeholders to achieve outcomes while driving financial improvements and delivering excellent customer service. Take personal responsibility to resolve issues, coordinating with colleagues, other service areas and suppliers to ensure positive outcomes.
* Provide administrative financial support and advice within respective service areas and to a range of customers. Provide timely financial information, ensure all local finance processes and transactions are properly carried out, and maintain a clear audit trail contributing to financial reporting.
* Work with computerised financial transaction systems and standard software packages (including running reports, extracting and analysing information, undertaking system reconciliations, resolving differences, and preparing spreadsheet calculations as necessary).
* Maintain and control accurate, sensitive financial information and control systems to ensure high-quality financial standards across the council.
* Ensure delivery against performance indicators, including timely payment of invoices, income collection, debt management and recovery, and report on these as required. Assist in the timely presentation and submission of other internal financial management information as required.
Qualifications
* Experience in a range of finance processes.
* Experience in a range of finance processes and an understanding of the links to wider Finance across the Council.
* Experience of working on computerised financial systems.
