About The Team

Warwickshire County Council’s Business Support Service provides high-quality, professional support to teams across the organization, playing a vital role in ensuring services run smoothly and effectively. By supporting the Council’s vision to make Warwickshire the best it can be – both now and for future generations – this team is at the heart of delivering impactful public services.

You’ll be part of a collaborative and adaptable team, delivering flexible and responsive business support to Council service areas. Working proactively, you’ll contribute to improving ways of working, helping to enhance both the services you support and the wider Business Support function. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in meaningful work while developing your skills in a forward‑thinking and supportive environment.

About The Role

Join our Early Careers offer as an apprentice and take the first exciting step in building a professional career within a supportive and dynamic environment. This role offers hands‑on experience across a wide range of business functions, from coordinating work experience placements and supporting recruitment events in schools and colleges, to assisting with meetings, conferences, and team activities.

You’ll play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly by producing documents, managing data, supporting customer enquiries, and helping with essential administrative and finance processes. Collaborating closely with experienced colleagues, you’ll gain valuable exposure to how a busy office operates while making a real contribution to meaningful programmes that support future talent.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll develop strong communication and customer‑service skills, build confidence working with IT systems and business tools, and learn how to prioritise tasks effectively in a professional setting. You’ll be encouraged to take initiative, contribute ideas for improving processes, and collaborate with a diverse team committed to delivering high‑quality service. With a focus on continuous learning and personal development, this is an ideal opportunity for someone enthusiastic, organised, and eager to grow – offering the foundation for a rewarding career while supporting important services that make a difference in the community.

Key Requirements

No prior experience is required – we’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about learning new skills, committed to delivering excellent service, and eager to be part of a collaborative team. You’ll be a confident communicator with the ability to organise your workload, manage priorities effectively, and use standard IT applications such as Microsoft Office and email.

As the role involves attending careers events across Warwickshire, the ability to travel reliably is essential.
