Job Description
Project Controller – Leonardo’s Radar and Advanced Targeting line of business, based in Edinburgh, is uniquely positioned as one of the world’s top manufacturers of radars, lasers and infra‑red countermeasure systems.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with IPT Work Package Managers and Project Managers to produce and maintain fully resourced multi‑level project schedules.
* Deliver Project Controls on projects through the application of consistent processes, methods, governance and provision of guidance in line with Leonardo processes.
* Ownership of the project schedules – drive and promote optimal schedule quality and best‑practice management techniques, including schedule risk analysis at all stages of the project lifecycle.
* Apply resource scheduling techniques to optimise schedules, identify and resolve conflicts.
* Provide Project Controls support in the bid phase to ensure best practice, risk management and smooth transition to execution.
* Conduct what‑if analysis to drive decision making and risk mitigation.
* Apply schedule risk analysis techniques and recommend mitigation to the project team.
* Apply Project Controls metrics (including EV) and reports to IPT/PCM on outcomes, alongside recommendations.
* Actively contribute to IPT and Business area project reviews (PPRP, Schedule Reviews, etc.) through delivering the project controls inputs.
* Build and maintain good working relationships with all functions across applicable projects to influence activity.
What You’ll Bring
* Practical and demonstrable experience of project planning and control principles.
* Experience using techniques and procedures such as earned value, work breakdown structure and network planning.
* Proficiency on SAP/Primavera or similar planning tools.
* Broad understanding of all parts of the project lifecycle, with experience in planning and execution phases.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, using data and analysis to support reasoning.
* Good business knowledge to perform what‑if scenarios.
* Capacity to work independently within well‑defined procedures and require minimal supervision.
* APMG Project Controls Foundation & Practitioner level certification or meeting criteria to undertake training.
Security Clearance
Role subject to pre‑employment screening per UK Government Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Additional National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, including Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
