Main duties of the job
* Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care for patients in acute and locked rehabilitation settings.
* Lead clinical care for up to 16 beds on Rowan 2.
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide person‑centred care.
* Build therapeutic relationships with patients and carers.
* Supervise and appraise junior medical staff, ensuring GMC standards and compliance.
* Participate in service planning, business development and quality improvement initiatives.
* Engage in annual appraisal, job planning and CPD activities.
* Maintain professional registration, Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status.
Person Specification
* Essential
o MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
o MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
* Desirable
o Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
o Additional clinical qualifications.
Eligibility
* Essential
o Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
o Included on the GMC Specialist Register, or within six months.
o Approved clinician status or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
o Approved under S12 or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
* Desirable
o In good standing with the GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
