Pharmacy Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic and determined individual to join our well‑established team. The role involves contributing to the delivery of a comprehensive and modern pharmacy service by undertaking activities within the pharmacy and at ward level, ensuring an efficient and effective delivery of medicines to patients.

Main duties of the job
* Receipt of orders from wholesalers and assembly of orders for wards.
* Regular deliveries to wards and provision of the ward top‑up service.
* Job involves lifting and moving boxes of fluids within the department and around the hospital.

Job responsibilities
To contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive and modern pharmacy service by undertaking activities within the pharmacy and at ward level, which contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of medicines to patients.
Person Specification – Qualifications
* Range of routine work procedures, requiring job training; knowledge of procedures for own pharmacy area – on‑the‑job training, working towards NVQ2 or equivalent experience.
* Good standard of literacy and numeracy equivalent to GCSE grade C or above in English Language and Mathematics.
* Will be expected to complete the relevant modules of the NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services supported by appropriate underpinning knowledge.
* IT skills to European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) standard or equivalent experience.
