An opportunity has arisen for a full‑time Technical Manager (MEP) in the Estates Department of the Facilities and EHealth Directorate at NHS Grampian. The post will be based initially at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and involve technical commissioning services for major construction projects across Grampian.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical commissioning services to major construction projects.
* Ensure mechanical and electrical installations in physical infrastructure projects are installed and commissioned to statutory, technical and NHS specific standards and in accordance with C&DM Regulations 2015.
* Work with multidisciplinary teams of construction and health professionals.
* Conduct detailed inspections, plan and witness commissioning of installed services and prepare progress reports on live construction sites.
* Interpret and advise on technical commissioning results, ensuring installations meet highest quality standards.
Qualifications
* Experience in technical commissioning of complex mechanical and electrical systems in the building construction sector, ideally in a lead technical and commissioning role.
* Experience within an NHS setting is desirable.
* Minimum recognised construction industry qualification up to degree level in a technical subject; ideally a chartered member of an engineering institute (MEng, BEng or equivalent).
* Knowledge of BSRIA and CIBSE commissioning guidance and procedures.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email) and familiarity with CAD drawing packages and construction document management systems.
* CSCS card required.
* Current driving licence essential.
