ModalityLLP is a large-scale provider of NHS community outpatient and diagnosticservices. Locally we offer patients access to community outpatientservices across a number of specialty areas including Cardiology, Dermatology,Rheumatology, ENT, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Urology, andRespiratory Medicine. We also offer a range of diagnostic servicesincluding X-ray and Ultrasound.
TheSurgical Pathway Coordinator (SPC) role is responsible for ensuring thatpatients requiring surgical procedures within Modality LLP services aresupported through their care pathway in a way that they feel fully informedabout their operation, receive timely information and communication before andafter surgery, and experience a well-coordinated and smooth pathway.

Main duties of the job
Work inpartnership with clinicians and administrative teams to carefully coordinatethe smooth running of the surgical pathway by ensuring that coordinated andstreamlined administrative processes revolve around the patient and theirindividual needs.
Workclosely with surgeons and anesthetists to ensure that elective inpatienttheatre sessions are booked to maximum utilisation, taking into considerationboth clinical priority and length of wait.
Leadthe coordination of an efficient and high-quality elective surgery pathway
Coordinatetheatre lists with surgeons, anesthetists and theatre teams
Bookingtheatres for surgical lists by liaising with in-house and third-party teams
Buildingrotas 3-6 months in advance
Ensuringpatients are appropriately prepped for surgery checking that previousconsultations, consent forms and pre-operative assessments are available priorto surgery
Organisingpatient transport, as required
Workingclosely with specialty admin teams to monitor waiting lists for surgery andpost operative follow ups
Workingwith operational teams to monitor and procure equipment and consumables
Sendingout pre-operative and post-operative educational information to patients
Ensuringthat patients are prepped and receive regular reminders about their surgery inorder to minimise the risk of DNAs/cancellations
Providingan excellent customer service and a professional administrative service topatients
