Relief Plant Supervisor - Concrete Operations
Location: Covering Cumbria & the Northeast of England
Contract Type: Full-time, mobile role across multiple sites
Heidelberg Materials is seeking a versatile and proactive Relief Plant Supervisor to support concrete production across our sites in Cumbria and the Northeast. This is a key operational role, providing cover for plant supervisors during holidays and absences, and ensuring smooth, safe, and compliant plant operations.
About the Role
Reporting to the District Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for batching and dispatching concrete, maintaining plant equipment, supervising contractors and hauliers, and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
You'll play a vital role in:
* Operating batching systems and managing stock levels
* Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and site presentation
* Supporting customer service and liaising with internal teams
* Ensuring environmental controls and safety procedures are followed
* Identifying opportunities for operational improvement and cost control
What We're Looking For
* Experience in concrete production and plant operations
* Strong understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems
* Ability to batch concrete to high standards across manual and automated plants
* Basic IT skills and familiarity with production systems
* A flexible, reliable, and self-motivated approach to work
