Residential Support Worker - Children's Home Location: South Manchester We are thrilled to be working with a new children's home in South Manchester. Mission is to empower children and adolescents, helping them to build resilience and achieve their full potential. Role Overview: You will be working with young people up to 18 years old. You will play a vital role in supporting and helping them to build confidence, life skills, and resilience in a safe and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities: * Build positive relationships with residents to support their emotional and social development. * Support daily routines, including meals, education, and activities. * Create a safe, nurturing environment where young people feel secure and valued. * Manage challenging behaviour using de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies. * Maintain accurate records including logs, reports, and incident forms. * Participate in household tasks like cooking and cleaning when applicable. * Work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins. Qualifications and Skills: * Education: Relevant qualifications in youth work, social care, or a related field are preferred. * Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage and motivate young men from diverse backgrounds. * Attributes: A proactive and energetic attitude, with a passion for working with young people. A commitment to being a positive influence and role model. * Requirements: A valid UK driver's licence and a clear Enhanced DBS check or willing to complete one.
