Part‑time Medical Secretary / Pathway Navigator in the Neurology Department at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Overview
This role includes neurophysiology administration, handling appointments for nerve conduction studies, distributing reports and uploading results to Cerner. The position requires interaction with patients, GPs, Consultants and multi‑disciplinary team members. Training and comprehensive support are provided.
Responsibilities
* Deal with telephone enquiries from GPs, patients and staff in a courteous and diplomatic manner.
* Ensure appropriate messages are passed onto relevant people in a timely fashion.
* Communicate highly sensitive information to patients and Consultants.
* Maintain efficient and effective administration of neurology and neurophysiology clinics.
* Cancel and amend clinic lists following instruction from clinicians, Senior Sister and ADM.
* Provide efficient and comprehensive administrative service to Consultants and the team.
Qualifications
* Good general level of education with formal secretarial qualifications or at least two years' experience as a Medical Secretary.
* Essential qualifications as outlined in the attached Person Specification.
* Experience in medical office or supporting clinicians preferred.
