Are you a proactive and enthusiastic researcher with experience in epidemiology, health economics, health outcomes research, health technology assessment, or guideline development, with a strong interest in health policy? Do you want to contribute to cutting-edge work in health and social care?
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) exists to help improve the quality, sustainability, and productivity of health and social care in England. We have an international reputation for our approach to producing guidance and information on effective practice that supports better decisions and helps the health and care system to prioritize its investment. We are one of the world leaders in this field.
We have a vacancy for a Senior Analyst in NICE's Research team. Reporting to a Scientific Adviser, the post holder will work with NICE colleagues and international collaborators, including HTA agencies and regulators, to develop our methods, processes, and policies for health technology assessment and guideline development. They will also work on grant-funded research projects, funded by national and international funders.
The Senior Analysts within the Research team are responsible for a range of activities, including:
1. Conducting research, analyzing data, and disseminating findings in collaboration with partners in the UK and internationally.
2. Delivering science policy and research outputs, ensuring high technical quality.
3. Developing applications for research funding in collaboration with UK and international partners.
4. Proactively working with teams across NICE to develop and deliver projects aligned with NICE's strategic research priorities.
5. Developing and maintaining relationships with external collaborators, including research partners, international HTA agencies, regulators, and the wider research community.
6. Managing the Research team's research infrastructure activity.
The team adopts a flexible approach, meaning that the post holder will work on multiple projects and activities simultaneously, with specific tasks changing in response to business needs.
The Science, Evidence and Analytics Directorate provides the essential foundation underpinning all NICE guidance. We are responsible for keeping NICE's methodological approaches fit for purpose, involving active engagement with stakeholders to understand their priorities in health technology assessment and guideline development. We also collaborate on research projects to drive methodological innovation.
