SEN Teacher:

Hours: Full Time (Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm)
Salary: £445 to £475
Are you an experienced and passionate SEN teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity in a specialist setting?
Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and creative SEN Teacher to join our warm and welcoming team in Coventry. This is a full-time role within a well-established special school catering for pupils with a broad range of complex needs. This role is within a primary class for non-verbal children, where many of the pupils have profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and associated sensory needs. As the class teacher, you will lead a small, well-supported team and play a key role in delivering a sensory-rich, highly differentiated curriculum that promotes communication, engagement, and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver sensory-based learning experiences tailored to individual EHCPs.
Develop and implement strategies to support non-verbal communication (e.g. AAC, PECS, Makaton).
Lead a team of dedicated support staff to ensure high-quality provision across the day.
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
Monitor progress and contribute to annual reviews and target setting.
What We’re Looking For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Primary or SEN experience essential.
A strong understanding of teaching pupils with severe and complex needs, including non-verbal learners.
Experience in sensory learning approaches and communication strategies for non-verbal children.
A nurturing, patient, and resilient approach with a child-centred ethos.
Commitment to inclusive practice and ongoing professional development.
