As a senior employee of the Health Board, the post holder will work in close cooperation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Health Board's patients.
Responsibilities
* Provide care to rheumatology patients from across the Health Board.
* Support existing Consultants and contribute to the continued development and quality of Rheumatology services.
* Work primarily at Prince Philip Hospital, with potential off‑site or other hospital duties as the service evolves.
* Discussions around working pattern will take place during initial job planning, where preferences, requirements and options can be discussed and explored in full.
Person Specification – Essential
* Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
* On Specialist Register with GMC or CCT due within 6 months of interview date, or CESR or equivalent European qualification for Specialist Registration
* MRCP or equivalent
* Broad based experience in Rheumatology
* Knowledge of UK hospital systems (or equivalent)
* Knowledge and participation in CPD
* Evidence of participation in clinical audit and understanding role of audit in improving medical practice
* Experience and knowledge of critical appraisal of evidence to improve clinical outcomes
* Evidence of organising programmes and teaching medical students and junior doctors
* Knowledge of the management and structure of the NHS
Person Specification – Desirable
* Appropriate Higher Degree e.g. MD, PhD or MSc or equivalent
* Experience of NHS
* Wider experience, research and training in providing sub speciality service
* Additional clinical qualification(s)
* Evidence of initiating, progressing and concluding research projects with publication
* Research degree
* Organisation of further teaching programmes in medical education
* 'Training the Trainers' experience
* Evidence of management training
