Duty Manager – SPAR, Gillingham
We are a dynamic and innovative retail business, owning 243 SPAR convenience stores and employing more than 5,000 people. We are seeking a seasoned leader to manage our award‑winning Gillingham store.
Duty Manager – 15 hours per week, various shifts (early mornings, evenings, weekends).
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Store Manager to maintain a safe, legal, high‑performing store during duty shifts.
* Deliver all store operations, objectives and KPI’s.
* Manage, coach and develop colleagues, fostering a motivated and empowered team.
* Carry out performance, absence and cash management duties as required.
* Open and close the store, ensuring colleague safety and stock/cash security.
* Perform cash reconciliations, voids and refunds for till colleagues.
* Lead the team to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
* Promote the store through community engagement initiatives.
* Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Requirements
* Previous management or supervisor experience in food retail or a similar fast‑paced operation.
* Commitment to exceptional customer service standards.
* Strong planning, organisational and prioritisation skills.
* Excellent communication and influencing at all levels.
